    Pardon. "Freedom" is the wrong word. I should have said "choices". You have more choices in where to live and how to live when you have money. There is a distinction between being free and living a certain lifestyle.

    I dispute the notion that acquiring wealth is "at the expense" of someone else. I think economic and tax systems should be devised to maximize the amount of stuff that we don't really need but want. Let people keep as much of their earnings as possible and everyone will be happier for it.

    Worker exploitation happens. Southern plantation owners got rich farming cotton using slave labor. Today, the rising tide raising all ships scenario is more common. Yes, the entrepreneur/CEO gets rich, but the workers also benefit.

    You could do it, but would mean the government would effectively have to control the flow of all the money, and I doubt that would be productive.
