I think it would be good if there was democracy in America once more.

I can't help but feel that with this government shutdown, the Republicans cost themselves the White House next time, unless the Democrats do something stupid like nominate an IXTX type against an EXFX type. It seems to be a surefire path to presidential defeat every time (regardless of party).

I remember back when everyone said Bush was going to be the first U.S. dictator and that he would stay beyond his term limit. At a certain point, it looks like the boy who cried wolf. I wish people who are old enough to know better would be more responsible with these comparisons, but I suppose that's too much to ask for.
Its an addiction to drama but life really isnt like their favourite episode of 24.

Just as the homosexual minority isnt really that persecuted by the majority's continued habit of fucking, marry and birthing with the opposite sex and not giving a shit what other people do there is no shadowy, possibly Jewish, cabal of bankers who want to simultaneously institute socialism in America and maximise their own board room pay (honestly I dont know which is the more creative in their steamy piles of shite the US left or right).

There's a problem though, stuff like this gets the push at a time when as few as 49 people can hold the entire US hostage and by extention the world economy?

Its not a wonder that the UK news coverage this morning was all about how the UK is virtually a Chinese satellite nation now through "investment", fiscally the Chinese own our asses, I'm pretty damn sure that the UK wouldnt have made this move AT ALL if it wasnt sure the US doesnt want to have a role in world affairs anymore.

So is that the Tea Party plan? Either force Obama to defund a completely legal law OR shut down the government and send the country into default, and if he chooses the latter, try to unite the base with impeaching him?

Actually, I can totally see that being their plan. Win-win, in their view. The Tea Party claims we won't actually default after the 17th, or if we do, it won't actually hurt the world economy. If they are wrong, they'll just claim their theory was sound, but Obama somehow interfered and forced the country to default, and that he should be impeached on those grounds.

    Not being a Democrat.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

No we don't need to, or really have ground to.

The numbers of enrollees are being withheld by the administration, but from other sources the numbers coming out don't look good.

Estimates are that at best half of the 7 million expected to enroll by march will enroll.

That's one of the more bullish predictions, on the bearish side, it could be as few as 1 million signing up.

Either way, that subscription rate for the program isn't sufficient to make the numbers work.

The market is going to batter this thing until major changes upping consumer confidence are made to it.

I'll enjoy the show, it should be a good one.

The Senate would never oust the OH-Bammy after the House impeachment passes.

As for Obasmacare, even if it flops, it's still a foot in the door for something similar in the future.
