I can't believe the tenacity of denial you concerned citizens of the intertubez have about the surveillance of corporations and usage of video surveillance and internet data collection by non government entities.

Not only that, but the government wasn't spying on your email to your secret internet boyfriend, they only were using it on people for whom they had reasonable cause.

I would also love to know if you are down with potential employers of non government entities checking your credit score and spying on your Facebook.

But as usual, in internet land, the government is the only source of evil.

I don't think a lot of people who are defending Snowden believe that governments are "worse" than private entities.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

He betrayed US treachery to the rest of the world. Sucks to be righteous right now.
Bellison uncorked a flood of horrible profanity, which, translated, meant, "This is extremely unusual."

More Washington wisdom: "You can't have your privacy violated if you don't know your privacy is violated."

Clearly we should just trust the government. They know what's best.

"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."
