Default Obamacare/We Are Moving to Switzerland

My ISFP wife voted for Obama both times. But now that she's read more about Obama's "affordable health care" on internet news sites (such as our local news), she wants to move to Switzerland and get the hell out of the US!

Your wife has a hidden agenda. She wants to move to Switzerland to be closer to her bank account.

    Can I have your stuff?
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

So... your wife didn't think the Affordable Care Act went far enough?

I will say I admire people who put their money where their mouth is.

And remember, your ancestors were immigrants to America, who left from their home country in search of a better life. So it's traditionally American, in a way, to leave your country if your country has left you. How's that for patriotism?

    So, good luck, sir.

According to her, It's not "affordable" unless you're rich.

She's right. We're in an income tax bracket where we are punished more than rewarded by these gubmint programs. So where will we have to cut back in order to pay for our neighbor's health care? Cable tv? Internet? One meal out a week?

Some, if not all, of my kids want to leave the country. Right now, three of them are thinking Canada. I'll do everything I can to help them get out. But it's not because they/we have a problem with helping pay for our neighbor's healthcare. To us, it's crazy and immoral not to.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

So you believe that people should have to pay taxes to take care of their neighbors.

Charity is moral. Stealing is not.

Thanks! And you know what makes it possible? Not forcing people to pay for our airplane tickets. There are charity programs where people voluntarily give donations, the old-fashioned, moral way.

It depends on the state and your age bracket.

    Anyway, have a nice trip.
