    Default Amash Amendment

The purpose of the Amash Amendment was to defund Obama's spy-on-all-Americans programs. It failed to pass in the House by a vote of 205-217. Here is a roll call to see which representatives need to get their asses handed to them in their next election. I've already contacted mine, told her she lost my vote, and I will go out of my way to make sure she gets primaried in 2014.

"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

My representative has been voting very lovely on bills like these.

I've been looking at her voting patterns since she got into office, and her voting has been great (unlike her neighbor... I plan to do something about him.)

Which is why I continually support her, and will tell others who have seen her vote to voice their support of her.

The USA will never fight another war in the East without Pine Gap, situated in the middle of the Continent of Australia.

Pine Gap is part of the spy-on-all-foreigners program. It is a technological marvel, that allied with visual spy satellites, enables drones to locate, attack and kill with accuracy anywhere in the eastern hemisphere.

    Wow.

There's less partisan bullshit in the vote than I thought. I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of Democrats that don't have a "gotta support the team" approach.

I wish the electorate had that much sense.

Stuff like this convinces me that humans are OK. I may actually write my representative a letter, telling him how much I appreciate the fact that he did what was right instead of treating this shit like a high school pep rally. Looks like Brady has my vote again.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

This is not going to go the way you think....

The fact that this even came up for a vote in the House is a huge deal.

For anyone caring about the text of the Amash Amendment, here it is:

    There is another amendment out.

    Repeal the Surveillance State Act

Also, here is a list of Representatives that voted for or against similar bills. Some of them haven't been counted for, but anyways. CTRL+ F and type your representative's name to see how he/she voted.

Since they are in recess, you can probably meet your representatives you can probably start talking to them about it. Or, if your representative has consistently voted for it/similar bills, be vocal about it that you don't like what they are doing and that you are willing to help fund against his/her reelection.

If one of these guys are your representatives, give them a call to support the bill.
