Default Feds advance plan to kill 3,603 barred owls in Pacific Northwest

    http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/n...,6854548.story

The awesome federal gobment, in an attempt to "save the owls," has been reduced to killing owls.

No estimate is given on the cost of this "experiment" at a time when federal employees are being "sequestered" in order to save 20% of the cost of paying their salaries and being ordered to power down all their equipment at the end of the workday.

Basically, humans are in essence responsible for the barred owl displacing the spotted owl, so now they feel a need to get involved in killing the barred owl to save the spotted owl.

In the big picture, this is just an example of what a crazy effect we have on the environment everywhere we go.

And how were humans basically in essence responsible for the barred owl displacing the spotted owl?

Assuming human development is the cause, then the idea would be to get rid of human development.

No, the idea would be to lessen the impact of human development. Develop, but destroy less tree cover in the process.

You seem to say this like its not an idea worth taking seriously.

It's already been tried. Those who believe trees are deities are losing the battle.
