Default Massive Oil Reserve Discovered In Australia

    http://moneymorning.com/ob-article/a...hp?code=131883

With current estimates at 233 billion barrels its just 30 billion shy of the estimated reserves in all of Saudi Arabia.

According to one renowned international expert, this massive discovery could eventually dwarf the oil rich kingdom as the original estimates are revised.

An advisor to six of the top 10 oil producers and active consultant to 20 world governments, Dr. Kent Moors now believes the find, "may land at 300 or 400 billion barrels," making it one of "the greatest unconventional oil discoveries any of us will see in our lifetimes."

"It's represents a bona fide redrawing of the global energy map as we know it," Moors says, "and the mainstream media is completely ignoring it."

All told what was recently discovered outside a sleepy Australian town contains more black gold more than in all of in Iran, Iraq, Canada, or Venezuela.
Time for the US to blacklist another one...

Most other articles on the topic I can find (there aren't many) suggest 3.5-233 billion barrels, which is quite a range. If it's actually in the upper end of that range then that's more fuel for invasion paranoia.

Well idk exactly what information they have on the reserve as yet but theres a lot to take into consideration before real 'estimates' can be discussed. It seems a huge area of oil has been identified but weather or not and how much is possible to bring up is a different story.

Yes, give or take 230 billion.

And there's invasion paranoia in Australia?

We live right next to one of the most populous, overcrowded nations on earth (Indonesia) and are closer to China than to any other major ally. We're rich in natural resources and low in population. We don't have The Bomb. I think most Australians believe that if we didn't have the military backing of the US we'd have been invaded already.

Still sounds a bit nutty to me. Even without the USA's backing, it would be very stupid for Indonesia to invade Australia. China is actually a real power, but I wonder about its interest in invading any place, no less Australia.

I recall listening to a discussion about the Australian military capability on a well-regarded national radio station in which one of the experts mentioned in passing that the Indonesian president actually wanted to invade Australia over the East Timor intervention. He had to be talked out of it by his chief general on the grounds that they wouldn't succeed.

But you're right, it does seem unlikely in the near future. For one thing Indonesians actually like Australia, apparently.
