Just like the secret doomsday deterrent in Dr. Strangelove was a swell idea.

Honestly, this is the shit that makes me pro-gun control. If the 2nd amendment advocates didn't treat any sensible regulation as the first step to Soviet Nazistan, I would be on their side. It's fucking ridiculous. People don't treat new laws about drunk driving as threats to democracy, but bring up sensible gun legislation, and people flip out.
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

Your partisan fever dream must be quite graphic.

CCW has nothing to do with this. It's the chasing people in the dark that I have a problem with. That's just asking for trouble. He was reckless.

The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

The reality is driving drunk is asking for trouble, as is chasing people at night while carrying a loaded weapon.
Are the police asking for trouble?

Sometimes they are, but the police are trained. Well, at least they're supposed to be.

Just because we have the right to do something doesn't mean it's a good idea or that we shouldn't pay a price when our stupid actions kill someone.

What does being trained have to do with it?

Your claim is that merely chasing someone while armed is reckless. That there's a reasonable expectation the person will turn on you, attack you, and you'll have to shoot in self-defense. Thus chasing someone while armed is reckless endangerment of another's life. Training has nothing to do with it.

Actually, I agree. The police shouldn't be chasing people most of the time, either. Lots of innocent people get hurt by out-of-control cops. And when cops harm people due to their reckless behavior, they should also go to prison.

Agreed. I think we just reached a resolution.

The physical evidence very strongly suggest otherwise.
