    This makes me cross.

I've been on food stamps. They're necessary. I'm sure some people abuse them, but that doesn't make up for all the people that need them. I'd rather a few people exploit a system than have many people starve.

Oh well. At least when millionaires retire, they'll be able to get social security.

(For the record, I got about $200 per month. You're not going to starve, but you'll need to think very carefully about how you spend that. )
[Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

This is not going to go the way you think....

The thing is, that isn't even exactly true. For one thing, some of the steps that would provide humanitarian benefit would actually cost the government less money, thus debt should encourage it rather than discouraging it. Furthermore, the debt is not as bad as is popular to say, there actually is no present deficit, and all future problems are based merely on a projected growth in costs which comes from heath care prices, that is to say single payer health care and some means of price control would obliterate the entire debt projection.

So when you say the government has run out of money for these things, you are actually giving the political charlatans too much credit. They say these things precisely because this trend has been in motion long before the war on terrorism. This current scenario has made for a very valuable excuse to a naive citizenry.

What's crazy to me is that this is happening under a Democratic president, just like the safety net cuts when Clinton was in office. With Democrats like this, who needs Republicans?
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

that would be nice amount of food for those who are poor imo.

what comes to debt, US has the largest debt in the world when counted in amount of money they owe. but naturally since the country is big, its not the largest amount per capita, but still is a REALLY huge amount. if i remember right, every US citizen is in debt of like 50000 dollars.

It's 200 that you can only spend on food, and it can't be prepared food (i.e. restaurants). You have to figure out rent and electricity yourself. I think if you have dependents (kids), you get more, but I'm not sure how much.

Careful, you're sounding like a secret conservative.

Anyway, this shit is boring. How do food stamps help eliminate theism?

The other day someone said "Thank God", and I said "Don't thank God, thank SCIENCE." That'll learn 'em! Take that, Dad, for making me go to church!
