What is disturbing is that there's one comment on a news site that says "This is America. This is not news anymore." I don't live in America, but something is seriously wrong if that's people's initial reaction to something like this.

I will pray for and remember the victims, I hope that their community is resilient enough to bounce back.

When a biophilious culture finally crowds out the necrophilious one there will be less of this kind of thing and not before then. Decommission the negativity and recommission the love of life.

If this is news, what makes the daily gangland murders not news?

I guess I just find it disturbing that people are so desensitized. If more people still remained 'shocked' by these things there might be more effort to put an end to violence.

I'm tired of outrage, and this end the violence crusade, doesn't really matter to me.

I've got a good number of issues I care about, but there is a finite amount of care in my system.

This issue just doesn't make the cut for me. And I'm sure there are a ton of people out there who feel the same.

Do you really care about the market monetarist approach to QE?

We live in a country where every night the news tells us the worst things that happened in a country containing three hundred million people over an area of almost four million square miles.
Take the weakest thing in you
And then beat the bastards with it
And always hold on when you get love
So you can let go when you give it

The news sucks, I think its pretty necrophilious.

Anyway, I would also say, with full respects to the victims of this latest atrocity, that this also is not really "all hell breaking lose", perhaps my own religious background qualifies that statement in a way that it wouldnt for others.

When I saw this thread I was prepared to click on it and discover some shit on 9/11 or worse scales going down and the requirement to get to a TV set to see the interrupted scheduling broadcasting the clock counting down to "midnight" and me without my damn Rosary beads to hand. Just saying.

The thread title cut off at just the right point for it to say "All hell breaks loose in Santa's workshop".
    Go to sleep, iguana.

    Not front page CNN.

    Yea local stuff.

But they might as well not exist unless there's some other angle like racial motivation etc...
