Default Is Obama guilty of treason?

Is using the DOJ to silence journalists treasonous? I'm leaning toward yes.

It started with Julian Assange and seems to have escalated since then. Obama's DOJ has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other presidents combined. Most recently, he has raided the Associated Press and targeted James Rosen of Fox News.

I gotta be honest, this is scarier than anything Bush did.

Congress, is too far up its own ass to do anything about this. Well, unless the President had an affair, then we would get impeached proceedings. Idiots.

The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    To-may-to, to-mah-to.

It's all the same old channel, same old bullshit, same old posturing and white noise in this country. I wish our politicians could be more productive.

This isn't just being unproductive, silencing investigative journalists is weakening one of the most important aspects of a functioning democracy, a well-informed public. It's undermining the legitimacy of our government.

    Yes.

But it's not like he's the first president.

Of course he's not the first, but should we not care because he's not the first?

With all of the other things that have occurred under the Obama administration, this is the one that finally starts a "Is he guilty of treason?" thread?

Depends on what you consider treason, I guess. If blatantly ignoring the intent of the constitution is your definition of treason, then this is hardly the first strike against his administration. You will have to elaborate upon what definition you're going by.

I'm not sure what to say. I do believe there is information worth pursuing and secrets worth being kept, maybe now more than ever.
