They mustnt be worried about being laughed at.

Seriously, both the proponents and the opposition to these primitive cultures take them too seriously.

Although I'd say that if the punitive regimes dreamt off by these guys did prove to be effective in crime fighting then developed world would rush to adopt it, even if it were in all but name.

I don't favour irreversible punishments, for the obvious reason that 1.) new evidence can always come to light, and 2.) it is therefore a very dangerous precedent as courts cannot differentiate between degrees of certainty in the case of guilt of a particular offence, as the guilty verdict itself presupposes that the person has been shown to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt. So there is no get out clause of "only in cases where it's absolutely certain".

Or in other words: people HAVE been wrongfully convcited of crimes in all societies in the past, and one day it could happen to you.

As you write large numbers of European Islamists have gone to Syria for the religious practise of Jihad. The Islamists are leading and torturing, murdering, burning and blowing up Syrians. When they return to Europe, the Islamists will not only be radicalised, they will be hardened and trained to carry out urban Jihad in Europe.
