    I think you'd have a hard time arguing that an eye for and eye is unfair. It's irrational, because I don't think that that harsh of a punishment is necessary as a deterrent, and no one's life is improved through it. But, I can certainly see how the punishment is fair. Think about how badly this guy fucked up someone else's life by paralyzing them. Think about the immense amount of pain and suffering he caused. How big of a fucking moron do you have to be to stab someone in the spine? He's certainly no victim.
