    Dictators can be brave leaders.

Anyhow, he was a strongman, I don't like how he did things, and he hasn't exactly had stellar results. On the other hand, I understand what he had so much support and I respect what he symbolized to people. It would be a great shame if Venezuela should fall back into the hands of some corporate capitalist crony. The best case scenario is the void be filled by a leftist more along the kinds in Brazil or Chile.

This was weird news after reading an Economist article about him yesterday. I was never really able to gauge how people liked him. He was a dictator, though, so that can't mean he's all that great. Then again, that may be my American talking.

From the sounds of it, he was reckless and narcissistic. His VP is in favor for the upcoming election in light of Chavez's death. I don't know what that could entail, specifically, but I need to read more about it.

He was the typical latin american troll politician - attracted foreign investment and then "nationalized" the shit out of it.

But not only this, he has promoted class hatred so to allow him to divide the society and to control almost the whole media and all the branches of the state.

he always reminded me of manuel noriega
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

I don't know if he was a brave leader or not. There's nothing reliable to believe about him (either from foreign press or the States).

I think he provoked an unreal amount of US attention that's for sure, me, I dont care that much about the internal affairs of third world nations, it matters to me about as much as the uber wealthy's obscene riches bother libertarian kiddies smoking dope in their parents basements.

I dont believe he was a dictator, there were a bunch of elections, I'd bet that he wasnt as bad as pinochet, probably less of a sham democrat than the likes of "strong man" Putin and if its cancer he can add the long list of national leaders who could well have been assasinated by a foreign government or company, I still think Arafat was knocked off with a specially engineered genome weapon, I mean when the top European and French diagnosticians have no idea what's wrong with you something's up.
