If you listen really closely you can hear the gun control hysteria receding into the distance.

And if you listen really closely in Oz, you can hear gun massacres receding into the the distance. Gosh, we have to read about them occuring on the other side of the world. Thank God.

Why am I not surprised to see you are thankful for something like that? @Victor, you've been told this before.
    This is cause and effect.
Criminals take advantage of unarmed citizens.
Anti-gun fanatics are deniers of cause and effect.

I'm not convinced you're against violence.
I'm definitely not convinced you're against hegemonic control of people.

The real question is, so long as gangs are getting guns(illegally, how else?) the average person has more than the right to defend themselves with guns legally.

It's a question of culture. We just don't have a gun culture. I have never seen anyone with a gun, except the police, in my entire life. I have no fear of being taken advantage of because I am unarmed.

And as you know America does have a gun culture. And you must decide whether to arm yourself legally or not. However what I object to is your National Rifle Association telling Australians we have the Right to Bear Arms just like the Americans.

And I follow liberal democracy in order to limit but not abolish power.

We don't have a 'gun culture'. We have the Second Amendment. People aren't waving guns at people here. That's against the law it's called brandishing. What you are claiming isn't in America. It's a conjured idea. Idea only. Saying that a few derainged characters is representative of a general population is a lie.
