You should multitask more. You can be here, as well as doing some creative writing in another window. You can hum a song while you're at it too. You could even be concocting something in the kitchen, periodically checking up on it.

At the risk of repeating myself, your response is a complete non sequitur.

A literate society is linear and sequential and so full of sequiturs.

An esociety is non linear and non sequential and so full of non sequiturs.

Nah. Technology gives us the tools we need to express our individual creativity more readily than before. It lowers the barrier to entry. I don't have to mosey on down to Hobby Lobby to grab an easel and set of paintbrushes; I have graphics software. I don't need to buy a guitar and amplifier if I can compose music using even the shittiest DOS music trackers.

'course, with the Innernet and all, the bar for what we collectively regard as 'objectively' creative might be higher..

If everyone is creative, no one is creative.

We have moved on from creativity to presence.

We want to be as present as celebrities.

This is true--creativity can be seen as relative. However, technology simply allows everyone to express their own creativity--not, essentially, to give it to them. If you don't have ideas mulling around in your head, it doesn't matter if you have an electric guitar or sketchpad or full-blown electronic tablet.

There's this, too. We tend to desire fame more than self-expression.
