    Big enough.
A better question would have been, "How much snow did you have?" The answer is, a hell of a lot more than the goofball weathermen predicted!

They should be working in factories instead.
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

Its some sick ass shit that western privileged old money is really envious of the sort of society depicted in Slum Dog Millionaire.

Given the job pays very little, provides no benefits, and has virtually no security, while also contributing very little to the economy, I'd say that the initiative brought them something inadequate to make up for unemployment. It's not that struggling people who try to strike out on their own must resort to shoveling yards, it's just that their options are limited to things much closer to that than people living in a system functional enough that they don't have to strike out on their own. That's not just bad news for them, it's bad news for everyone in the same economy as them.
    Go to sleep, iguana.

People might read that self-defeating bullshit and kill themselves. Damn, you're good.

Given the inherent laziness of Western culture: Yeah. I can see suicides increasing in number.
Were they better or more motivated denizens, they'd revolt.

But that's almost asking for too much.

Oh, well. Good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

I don't appreciate it when claims about the power of will is used as an excuse to abandon people to hardship.

Thanks for responding with a comment that has nothing to do with what I posted.
