Default Ten most common new year resolutions

What are yours? I wonder too if there's anything special about 2013 with respect to these resolutions or if they are the same old, same old that people resolve each year? Do you think these are culturally specific?

    I've quit smoking marijuana...

I had my last joint at 9pm, Dec 31st.

    I don't think it's forever though.

I'd like to lose weight and quit smoking. Nothing quite like setting myself up for failure.

    Teach myself programming.
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

I've quit like 3 times. Some advice?

    Don't tie it to time.

I replaced one bad habit (weed) with another (women). (It's a joke...)

It worked. I was clean for half a year. Then she left (unrelated, as I was clean), then I fell off for a couple months, but now I'm clean again....because women beat weed. Wasting life in a state of stupor...it's fun, but, really, I want to do more with this.

I've never been into the resolution thing...if a change needs to be made in my life, I'll make it. I don't like the excuse of waiting for a particular time to do so.
Plus, it never seems to work with others...I doubt it would work with me. Time sucks for that.

My boyfriend and I were watching a New Year's Eve show about common resolutions on TV and #4 on the list was "fall in love," which seems like a particularly weird one to me.

I don't make resolutions, but while my nieces and nephews are visiting I've decided to transition to nicotine gum (I refuse to either smoke-or smell like smoke-around them, so its a good time to make the effort).

I want to figure out why a new year is so important. It's just moving to another day and every day is a year from some other day...

Any other time is just as good. Possibly better for certain things maybe. I sure don't want to follow resolutions when it's freaking winter time and I'm more depressed and more likely to break them anyway.

I hate cold and snow. Even staying inside I can feel it sapping the energy out of me. It's pretty to look at but somebody else can have all of it.
