I'm not voting for Obama because I'm not a hipster. I'm not a redneck either, but you'll just have to take my word for it.
    I don't wanna!

What bullshit? And why are you still talking to me via the thread and not PM. All you are doing is making it incredibly obvious that you have a personal problem with me.

As much as I love Obama over McCain and certainly over Bush, I don't blame people if they don't want to vote for him. It's as heart said, choosing good cop economics over bad cop economics.

Obvious is my point. I don't do subtle very well.

I agree with you to an extent, but it can really obfuscate the meaning when it comes to the ideas, which are, IMHO, more important than the diction. You can easily end up having an argument with someone else when you are actually talking about two different topics.

You know, it's funny. No one finds it weird when people are into their German roots or Irish roots or African roots or Italian roots. But they DO mistrust people who are into "White heritage." I guess it is because people who self-define as "white" often tend to be the unabashed bigots, and they use white as a code word for "pure/superior/not a dirty black or foreigner or Catholic." Of course, there is no overarching White American sensibility, the same as for other races. I hold no grudges with my rich WASP friends. They could use some better food and first names. Generally speaking, of course.
