    I was joking!

But I think British people care a lot about things, especially their Troops. why do you say otherwise?

Ok, I don't pick up jokes well on the internet.

It's not that I think people entirely "don't care" here, but I would say they're kind of on the apathetic/cynical side, yeah. But I find a lot of Europeans that way generally. (I'm Canadian - not that I think Canadians are loud and passionate, but North Americans are definitely different from Europeans. I find Europeans think it's uncool to care too much)

I think USA is the most idealistic nation. Borges said something like, Anglo-Saxons reason from the ethical to the material, the rest reason from the material to the ethical.

Britain is more idealistic that most of Europe, but less so than the USA, I agree. They aren't "passionate" but they do care. In their own stoical way.

In other countries, a footballer is hit by a coin and everyone says either "he shouldn't have shouted at the crowd, screw him", or "we need to put up fences, screw the fans". In other words, shit happens, live with it.

In the UK everyone says, "it's terrible that people throw coins, but if we put up fences someone might die again like in Hillsborough! What to do!" People actually want justice to operate. A rarity on the global stage.

That last example will mean little if you aren't living in Britain. But it happened.

If you fly to another time zone, you might have a shot.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Eww.

I fully intend on dying young and leaving a beautiful corpse, thankyouverymuch.
And so long as you haven’t experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth

“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside
them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe.” -Neil Gaiman
