I especially appreciate the comment about it being a social and political issue.
Most social issues have or are given eventually a political character, its a reciprocal relationship usually but politicians have already shown their contempt for women.

Although I do think that women are the underdog at one time men, or certain sorts of men, are at another, the weak are prayed upon or mercilously despised for the state of weakness.

That is what I don't understand. It's alien to me to operate that way.
It's not about want. They clearly weren't given the foundation that allows one to avoid becoming that way.

Because humans are not nearly as rational as we'd like to think. ANYONE will turn out this way if not given a foundation during formative years, and are then exposed to the wrong things at the wrong times.

Failure in many different ways. In the wild, omega wolves depart when life is grim for the entire pack. The departure of this young girl is the symptom of a greater dysfunction.

Oh definitely. Guys who are vulnerable face a terrible outcome socially. For any vulnerable person, this is what gets me the most enraged at people. There isn't much one person can do, but I'm glad that during my teenage years I chose this as my mode of rebellion. I had enough going for me externally to have a certain type of social power, but I used to openly befriend the most outcast kids. It isolated me from most possible friendships with others because I created an uncomfortable dynamic for them, but I did it on purpose. I was at a boarding school on a farm, so the kids were more insecure socially which resulted in some bad bullying for the vulnerable.

    To despise vulnerability is cowardice.

Plz elaborate. What does it say, that people can join this mentality so easily?

P.S. slut bashing pisses me off to no end. I saw this FB pic on some funny picture page I had liked, that was originally from another FB page for a company who offered relationship advice, and it said "Here's to all the beautiful women who don't need to dress skanky to get a man's attention. Stay classy." 2398598345983459348593485934 likes. Eat shit bro, eat shit. Slut bashing to promote your company. That's great. And what... 70% of people who liked it probably don't realize that it is slut bashing. It just intuitively "sounds about right".

(Especially when there are also politicians dismissing the pain and severity of rape).
WTF I DID NOT HEAR ABOUT THIS (perhaps I'm better off).

She certainly could have been saved with professional help.
I bet you could have fixed her with a wave of your pinky.

I also think that people should be prosecuted when being on record as telling someone to kill self. That is the same as making a death threat and should be a criminal offense everywhere. I hope each one is prosecuted seriously.
Nice. Of course, it wouldn't apply if the person was joking, or was advising suicide as a matter of euthanasia.

and I'll be honest, I've seen most professional responses to issues like this, and it has seriously disillusioned me as to what professional responses can do, it has also been the strongest vindication of the old saying about respecting the individual and not the office I have ever known.
Please elaborate. What's the professional response, and what's it do?

You're a smart girl, fia. Heart of gold too. Other way around rather. Heart of gold, with the smarts to leverage.

    Please dont.

Anyway, the professional response is generally talk therapy in a clinical setting, possibly there could be prescriptions involved and an admission to hospital, voluntary, or involuntary for assessment if you're so sick as to resist treatment, even at that they can not or usually dont detain people for long and the stay is similar to a hospital stay.

The talk therapy is alright but varies with the skill of whoever is delivering it, usually its CBT or solutions focused brief therapy with a possibility of group work if anyone is running groups in the locality. The services of specialist therapists can be availed off but those are much the same to what I have mentioned, some are analst trained too but usually the analysis is around attachment and developmental vs. chronological age functioning.

Its as good as they come maybe but a good family, support network and rest is generally just as good.
