If you really had compassion for them, you'd support legalization and regulation of the industry. Most of the danger comes from the fact that prostitution is illegal, and therefore a black market, in most jurisdictions.

I don't think it's fair to force hotel owners to absorb some of the costs of prostitution because society decided the practice should be illegal. If anyone was going to absorb those costs, it should be the government. But it would be idiotic for the government to make something illegal, then spend money making that illegal activity safer. Just legalize and regulate it.
