    Lots of misinformation out there, but it sounds like parts of the subway system is flooded in NYC. They'll make a movie out of this one someday

    @Jennifer - wow that's crazy!

    Right now, the winds are the biggie here in southern Ontario. The hydro pole in front of our house is currently arcing and sending out sparks with each gust so I've got a call into hydro (electric service) and they're sending a crew. I hope my power stays on! And no power lines fall on my house! I wouldn't have known it was sparking if my son hadn't stepped out for a cigarette ... not that I condone the smoking, but it came in handy just now for sure.

    I've got the bathtub full of water, 72 hours bags packed, candles and flashlights out, gas for the generator, tank full of gas to head to my parent's place if necessary. (I don't have an easy way to keep this place heated for any extended duration.) But I hope I'm totally over-prepared - and sending all the rest of you in the storm path all my best thoughts that all is and stays well!

    Here in the Southwest it was 80s F /high20s C and I wore shorts while I drank my coffee outside under the sunshine. We put in all our time dealing with mile-high haboobs in the infero summer and now we relax.

    Getting pretty windy out there! Looks like the tracking maps show it hovering around 40mi north of here 2-4PM continuing as a Category 1 storm. Nice.

    How y'all hanging in there?

    Some enterprising souls will be out after this charging people to clean up debris and haul stuff out of their yards.

    This picture from Long Island, NY had the caption "Go home trampoline, You're drunk." And I laughed.

    I know this isn't really confirmation but I found this:

    I'm gonna go with 'affirmative' on the subway flooding...

    Oh I was in a perfect zone, according to the map above we reached in the 40-50 mph range but my little kindle app was saying about 20-25. Perfect for being cozy all day. I walked my dog in it but was afraid of some power line falling on my head randomly or something so it didn't last long. It looks basically over up here now. My friends from central America laughed at all the people "hunkering down". A whole five hours of rugged suffering with my book.
    Didn't hear any sirens and was driving around quite a bit for a couple hours so I think we were fine overall.
