It's arguable whether or not the federal debt is a bubble, but it's certainly NOTHING like the credit bubble that burst in 2008. When you factor in CDOs, the entire credit market was several times larger than our national debt.

The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

When teenagers trash a house with a party, and the parents come home the next day and have to pay for repairs, who do you blame when there isn't enough money to pay the bills that month? I guess you would answer "the parents".

But everyone knows the best way to repair a trashed house is to invite 50-60 people around, play loud music and put out some kegs.

I was hoping Bachmann would lose, but she's clinging to a 1700 vote lead with 81% of precincts reporting. I'm sure comedians are thrilled.

Well, the parents have direct responsibility over the behavior of their children, and of what happens in the house THEY own. Obama is not Bush's parent, nor does he OWN the debt/country. It's more like a hostel that frequently changes owners, owners who allow the occupants to come in and wreck shit, accruing massive bills. Then the last owner (Obama) comes in and says "This HOSTEL has more wealth than any HOSTEL, but that's not what makes us rich," to which their creditors say "No it isn't, it's what makes you broke." And then the hostel continues to raise prices on people to pay for the repairs, to the point where everyone is guaranteed a FREE package of shampoo and soap, in exchange for room prices higher than any other hostel, and with more people stuffed in each room than the competition. More for less. But hey, they're still the richest .

    And Obamacare will stay.
Do you know why Clinton was able to work with a Republican congress and get shit done? Because he moved to the center after losing the mid-terms in 1994. Obama refused to do that, and was at least as stubborn and uncompromising as the Republicans throughout any and all negotiations, as Bob Woodward documented.

We'll see....its still unpopular, and its more likely that there will be at least two more years of stop-gap budgets (and increasing deficits) before the issue is the focus of yet another mid-term election, in the meantime running up pointless costs until a bipartisan solution is reached.

now that all these non-whities are getting more comfortable with voting the republicans are going to have to rethink their strategy.
