This "shit" isn't easily fixable. The president is not a dictator.

2 more years of congress refusing to work with the president and blaming him for not being able to get them to work with him. What do you do? At least the Bush tax cuts won't be extended. And Obamacare will stay.

219 house seats, Republicans officially have their majority.

No one could fix this economic mess in 4 years. We had a multi-decade credit bubble that collapsed. That takes a LONG time to clear up. The only way it could have been "fixed" sooner would have been to create another bubble, but that would only postpone the problem, along with increasing its intensity.

It looks like Obama is going to win the popular vote by a pretty good margin.

The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

And um... just what do you propose actually happened here in the past 4 years, if not what you just said?

Interesting piece by conservative commentator John Ziegler, who was one of the few conservatives who blogged that Obama would end up winning and lost followers because of it:

Also, Donald Trump makes himself look even more stupid than normal:

And finally, an interesting exit poll -- looks like Obama was far more convincing about his ability to understand the average person and not be trying to take advantage of them.... and Sandy did play a role for the people who voted for him.

He's 500,000 up right now (about a half percent) and still increasing since they're still counting CA -- plus Miama-Dade in FL went home, I think, and won't resume counting until tomorrow.

I think we propped up certain industries with bailouts, to some success, and paid for stimulus packages (to no affect), and increased our debt by many more trillions. Debt bubble... still growing, faster than ever. Real unemployment still super high. Economic growth... anemic.

It looks like the republicans may actually end up with more seats in the house than they had before.
