It's worth noting that Obama has now hit a lead which would give him the win even if he didn't have Ohio. A recount seems increasingly pointless for Romney.

It only seemed like it was close because California (EV 55) is PST. If you counted that in from the beginning as an imminently Obama secure state, then it would not have seemed close at all.

Legalistically this isn't the case, but realistically speaking we know it is this way giving Obama a theoretical 60+ point lead during that entire period where it was "neck and neck". In reality, Obama had a secure 74 points coming but due to the time zone differences they were counted in an order that only made it seem like it was close.

It's not over until the Mormon mittens concedes.

What are you talking about? Obama is only over the 269 by 21 EC votes. That's with CA already figured in. I don't consider comparing his tally to Romney to mean anything, all that matters is how much over the 269 threshold he is, in terms of how big a victory it is. Even with CA figured in, Obama was not a winner until Ohio went his way, and then NV and CO to really seal the deal even if FL and VA are up in the air.
