    That is just weird...either they are still waiting for the first.0001% of results, or a quarter of the white poplation caught plague and died yesterday.

    Edit: they finally called it while I was posting.

    Yeah, just saw it. They have Romney up by a few electoral votes at the moment.

    Virginia's really bizarre. Florida's pinging around as expected, but Obama is still way up in Ohio and Romney is still WAY up in Virginia, and we know those are much closer.

    North Carolina is another pinger. First Obama was up. Now Romney is up. Now their numbers are almost even again.

    @Jennifer

    Fairfax County isn't reporting yet, and Obama held it over McCain by like 100k votes. Virginia tallies are meaningless at this point.

    I think they've stopped reporting results in the D.C. hinterland, to accomodate people still in line.

    Yeah, I basically said as much. It's pretty clear that particular regions favor particular candidates, and those haven't come in yet.

    EDIT: They just called Michigan and New York for Obama and Texas for Romney. And North/South Dakota and Wyoming for Romney.

    ha ha.... Florida, with 53% of the vote in, still has Obama up... but only by 3000 votes.

    They called Michigan on 4% reporting and a lead of 6%.

    I don't know about that...

    It's pretty obvious they are using exit polls that we haven't seen yet, comparing them to what is coming in, figuring out the variance, and then calling it if it's within a particular variance. It just stinks because we can't see what data each broadcaster is using, and it's clear they're all using their own polls / variance equations.

    EDIT: Freakin' Florida. 60% of the vote is in, and Obama's ahead by about .2% (15,000 votes). What's their limit for an automatic recount down there?
