I am still waiting for the charming miss salame to substantiate her allegations. Anyone can accuse those who disagree with them of terrible things, the challenege would be to prove it.

FWIW I believe paedos are the lowest for of humanity and deserve brutal punishment.

Differentiation is the antithesis of group-think.

The Polanski case was not about Polanski.
    It was about Samantha.

    She said: Leave Polanski alone.
    Read: Leave me alone.

    Group-think.

Rather than looking at individual cases, we are looking at a large social movement.

This social movement began with the Enlightenment of 17th and 18th centuries and is based on the discovery that power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. And so a decent society depends on the limitation of power.

So the first great social issue was the abolition of institutional slavery. And the second great social issue was the emancipation of women. And the third great social issue is playing out now in front of us and it is bringing child sexual abusers before our criminal courts.

So the Enlightenment has abolished absolute power over slaves, and abolished absolute power over women, and is now abolishing absolute power over children.

So individual cases are examples of this large social movement.

    Correct. I agree.

When I was a child my English teacher said a child is called it, in English.
Not she or he but an it, a thing. Property of an abusing uncle.
Times and mores are changing. But we have have a long way to go.
One day emancipation of children will be complete. Children will have citizen's rights.

Pedophilia isn't an offence under law. Statutory rape is the offence, and you rail against that here:

You also expressed the view that having sex with a 14 y/o is "less bad" than downloading child pornography.
And that Savile having sex with a minor didn't make him a rapist.
At the same time, you believe this to be consistent with holding the view that "paedos are the lowest for of [sic] humanity and deserve brutal punishment".
If you can prove it, show the quote where I say that, and I would be banned.
If people were routinely banned for saying / believing stupid things, there wouldn't be many people left.
Though you have discredited yourself so thoroughly and profoundly, I'm sure no one would object to your leaving.
