that you don't have to pay through the nose for? and why are insurance companies care more about turning a profit than taking care of their customers? why are they two faced? something needs to change, and fast.

When fewer Americans can be convinced that being given the opportunity to make a living will is the same thing as facing a Death Panel.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

When people stop being paranoid of socialism, which I'd imagine will be never.

    Sucks, doesn't it?

I think we will get there eventually but it will many years down the road.

Someone shouldn't go broke because he/she happens to get sick or injured. Especially when it's due to circumstances beyond one's control.

Exactly. I don't know why everyone else doesn't feel this way.

Health care in the underdeveloped world is a commodity

Health care in the developed world is a right

With sufficient development, the United States will eventually reach the potential to provide health care for all citizens

When more of the haves are willing to give up some for the have-nots. When those in power are willing to accept real limitations on that power, in the interests of fairness. When we put real results over ideology. When "ordinarly folks" understand the fallacy of divide-and-conquer economics. When everyone realizes and accepts the extent of our interdependency in a society. When we start planning for the long term, instead of focusing on instant or short-term gratification.

More immediately, when we take health care, like national defense and public safety, out of the marketplace, so decisions are made on the basis of more effective criteria than making a profit.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

I hear you lady. I have several medical problems and I don't have the money for insurance. I am basically having to tackle them one by one, and pay for them all out of pocket.
