Gay rights: I think gays should have the same rights as any other sinners.

Gay marriage: Total supporter. All these arguments about eroding the sanctity of marriage is such garbage. Marriage isn't that sacred in my book. It's a practical agreement that gives people certain rights over other people without that agreement. As soon as marriage gets tied up with governmental privileges, its status as something sacred and untouchable gets compromised. It's now a matter of equal rights and privileges.

Gay adoption: I have no problem with adopting gay people.

Gay rights - equal and not seperated/segregated

Marriage - going down the pisshole faster than you can say swish. the Marriage laws in this country need to be revamped to include polygamists and homosexuals as well as honor binding social "for show" marriages, like a gay politician who marries a woman not out of love but for professional reasons. That is, who you are married to should not necessarily be your lover. Marrige needs more flexibility to survive in the economy of the 21st century.

Gay adoption - awesome. I think most straight guys would love to have kids, we just don't want to have to take care of them, so it makes a nice arrangement. I'd leave my son or daughter at a gay couples' home if I thought them good and moral people.

I can find no rational reason to differentiate civil rights on the basis of sexual preference.

The distinctions themselves seem forced. And in a way, they are, by society.
    Not really.

So you think pedophiles, zoophiles, polygamists, etc. should be able to marry and adopt since you don't differentiate on sexual preference?

    That's clearly what I meant.

Tailored controversy, huh? That's somewhat disappointing.
Your comment seems more an obnoxious retort than an honest extrapolation from my point.

    Ah well.

What? That is a very common argument made against gay marriage. "If we let the gays get married then we have to let the polygamists marry however many wives they want and the zoophiles marry their horses and dogs."
