    Yeah, it's never gonna die.

This article is a few days later, and people are still arguing about whether they lied:

EDIT: And no, Lark, of course not -- of course they're all bigots because they might be supportive of LGBT rights, you know... just the kind of stuff you like to hear about anti-LGBT people automatically being bigots just because of their stance. I don't see your comments here (and continually elsewhere) as being any different than the kind of things you complain about others doing.

    EDIT EDIT:
Here's an NBC news article that leaves it unclear what Chick-Fil-A has agreed to, if anything.

I've never eaten anything at Chick-Fil-A and have no intention of ever starting. Even if their food tasted good it would just be yet another take on shitty fast food. Add to that what they have represented, and no thanks. They have supported some rather horrible organizations, not just making some stand on "traditional marriage". I've also read some of the self-righteous reactions from people who flocked there to support them and described how polite everyone was as if that had anything to do with morality. I have quite a few acquaintance-level gay friends whom I feel too much respect for to disregard what IS a big deal in their lives to fight for basic equal rights.

Maybe there should be? What is white history anyway? Why racialise history instead of getting the complete picture?

I think it sort of misses the point, I think neutral or reflective liberal people get tired of campaigns or outraged outbursts like what kicked this all off pretty quickly, I can understand that but the reality is that at the heart of this entire thing is the idea that those people were not entitled to hold whatever opinions they saw fit, that they couldnt think after their own fashion so long as they werent hurting anyone.

Sometimes I think that when this kind of thing happens neutral or reflective people get pissed off because they might even know what the reality is but realise that it will be too difficult to convince anyone of it or appear like too much of a betrayal of their "people" or, I dont know, some vague notion of nicety maybe, to even do so. Then the lazy feeble "everybody is wrong, so everybody shut up" gets trotted out.

Its like the immature and desperate attempts of the "peace makers" in the early years toddlers soft play area to emotionally regulate things following an outburst by crying and hugging all around themselves.

The issue with Chick-Fil-A is not that they expressed their freedom of speech to hold an opinion valuing traditional marriage. There are deeper human rights violations regarding their financial support against gay marriage.

Chick-Fil-A donated money to the Family Research Council which the Southern Poverty Law Center designated as an official hate group. The Family Research Council spent 25K in 2010 lobbying congress to not condemn the Ugandan "Kill the Gays" bill which would have subjected homosexuals in Uganda to the death penalty.

Then people go out to self-righteously support Chick-Fil-A's "freedom of speech" by stuffing themselves with greasy chicken. It is difficult to be human and not be enraged and nauseated by such a series of events. There are times when a strong emotional response is the most reasonable response when comprehending a situation in a holistic manner.

White history is everything that is taught in white privileged societies. Every month is white history month. People who are privileged typically cannot see their privilege because it forms the foundation of their every assumption about reality. People who benefit the most from a system tend to see it as fair and unbiased.

White history is also based on the "Great Man" approach to understanding progress. This contributes to this idea that "I as an individual have achieved, I built my company all alone, and deserve X,Y,and Z". This is a modified way of comprehending progress because individuals that contribute are the culmination of many smaller, anonymous achievements upon which they build their knowledge and contribute.

Christopher Columbus presented in first graders reports is a pristine example of "the great man of white history". He "discovered" America and is one of our forefathers. He was a brutal man who committed genocide, but that part is left out of most school plays.
