    I cant help but think that America is going to be next big fascist power but it wont call itself fascist, it'll talk up liberty instead and people will buy it.

    I wish Orwell could've had the foresight to make it a lot clearer than he did, although I've always thought it was pretty clear already, that his novels were not about the evils of socialism but the betrayal of socialism as he understood it, "IngSoc" could as easily have read "AmLib", ie "American Liberty".

    While I think Fire Fly was neocon propaganda, and still do, the tirade against perfectionism could be dusted down for those wanting to "perfect" liberty, which I believe means making it the preserve of the few rather than the many through capitalism.
