I wonder what norwegian prison is like.
I suspect it's far less horrible than American prison...

Only 22 years? No death sentence? Atleast not even life imprisonment?

    Fuck!!!
My sentiments exactly-after destroying so many lives, and ruining so many others, this sentence is basically like dehumanizing his victims.

I also share Lateralus's wariness for seemingly arbirary post-sentencing imprisonment-both because its not a guaruntee that he will spend the rest of his life in prison, and because it increases the arbitrary power of individuals in positions of authority rather that limiting such power through the rule of law.

Take this with a giant grain of salt, as he is trying to sell something and picks an extreme example, but it does show a general trend and cultural difference that is proably true.

So what you're saying is socialists have 33yrs to prepare?

Well I hope so, I would like the read the headlines of more people killing terrorists in self defence personally, could make it a lot less attractive for assholes like this.

Fascist visions are not so cliched as that anymore, there are very strange fusions between libertarianism, anarchism, capitalism and fascistic ideas.

Not to say they are not as totalitarian as they once were but absorbed totally in a life of immediate, perpetual struggles and fighting. In many respects it does resemble political islam and other terroristic movements.

There is no idea of a future, an end game, goals or visions besides feeling threatened and killing as a result.

Anders Behring Breivik is too well known and will not be forgotten. Should he be released , the chance is great that relatives of those that were murdered will kill him immediately after he goes free, even if it's 22 years from now.

I am pleased he was found to be sane because I thought he carried out mass murder as a political act.

If he had been found insane for carrying out mass murder as a political act, then other mass murderers, at the other end of the political spectrum, may be declared insane as well.

And as evil as mass murder is, I think the fundamental issue is political.

So I think it is important to realise that both ends of the political spectrum have the same end of destroying liberal democracy.

Sometimes they use mass murder, sometimes they use propaganda, but they share the same political aim.
