Default 13-year-old Boy attempts to help family and city shuts him down.

    Source: http://news.yahoo.com/teenager-not-a...180604654.html

    Basically..
    1. Boy saves up his money to buy a hot dog stand, an easy way to make money to help his parents who are too disabled to work.
    2. Mother and son ask around and think it's legit and okay to sell said hot dogs.
    3. Buys hot dog stand and sets it up.
    4. 10 minutes later, city shuts it down.
    5. City claims its because the downtown restaurants pay lots of money to help out with the town's beauty (events, parking lots, etc) so they can't take the restaurants' business away with a hot dog stand.

I'll be surprised if any in the city are actually "outraged" about it. Michegan doesn't exactly have a history about caring about the "little man". Even if he is an actual little man.

Apparently, incidents similar to this one aren't at all uncommon. Conclusion: our government is filled with idiots who have nothing better to do than harass people who aren't hurting anyone.

Totally lame, but I'm surprised that the city didn't use health codes to shut him down.

I'm trying, over all the stories I've heard of this happening, to form an opinion.

On one hand, the feelings inside me say let things like this happen.

On the other.... I don't know. It's hard to describe.

    Maybe I'm heartless =(

Hot dogs are pretty good. That's all that matters.

Hot dogs are indeed delicious. Just last night I had a 2am drunken cookout, merely out of lust for hot dogs. You have persuaded me, sir.

Sounds like some corporate sponsored free marketeer propaganda.

My first thought is that I'm amazed they actually released the real reason and apparently did not realize that most people would think this was offensive.

I don't understand how this law is relevant anyway, as long as the boy had the permission of the owner of the property his cart was on.
