Bureaucratic red tape code enforcement, and it will only get worse. Our parents and grandparents when they were young very rarely had to put up with these type of events. It seems to be common for the average individual these days to have so many unnecessary codes and regulations to live under regarding business. I've read about the lemonade stands being shutdown a while back. People are being raided now for selling raw milk. If I lived in the Washington D.C. area I'd go to this event and stay all day >
I'm confused about why this is news. The town had a pre-existing food cart ban. I don't think they singled out this kid. I don't know why the one offiicial told him it would be fine to start the hot dog stand, that seems like the shitty part to me.
We had a food cart ban here but I think it got overturned recently because hipsters love food trucks.
Oh man, are there food trucks over by you now? We're enjoying them in Bubbleboro, but I think University Hill still doesn't allow them. Which, you know, means more tacos for me. Next City Over Northway has the best food trucks, though! Thank God for the hipsters.
