Then I think I'm gonna have some bad news for you.

No matter what deal ends up being made, I highly suspect that the Democrats will be forced to be the more pliant of the two negotiators.

We'll have to see what happens.

I used to vote ignoring the party affiliation. But because of this treatment of governance as if it were a series of games to be won or lost, I will be using my votes from now on to protest this behavior.

Why not make laws that you legitimately and sincerely believe will be good for the nation? Why the brinksmanship? Why the "negotiations"?

What type of negotiations are these anyways, hostage negotiations? When the nations fate is held hostage, who is the hostage taker and who is the one trying to free them? I think most everyone will recognize that hostage taker is the one making the demands, while the ones trying to come up with either compromises or even stall tactics are just trying to keep the hostages alive.

Not to sound like Amidala, but everyone has a different idea of what that entails.

So far, the Ryan pick seems to be a modest boon for Romney among Independents, though its still early: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...s_right_choice

Apparently, Obama has lost a lot of the youth vote: http://washingtonexaminer.com/a-romn...rticle/2504893

It will be interesting to see if the Romney camp can juggle gains among young voters with the support of elderly voters....not that young people are expected to vote in great numbers this year.

Paul Ryan has horrible policies, but a part of me can't help but like him as a person. He TEACHES SENATORS p90x lol and he goes "noodling," both very cool hobbies.
For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.
