    Default Olympics 2012 (Opening Ceremony)

The ceremony was amazing; especially the beginning of it. Very beautiful. Danny Boyle did a great job.

The way it all culminates in the video below leaves me breathless. Don't mind the first 7-8 minutes - it is simply the introduction to a brilliant story of the Industrial Revolution that you must not deny yourself the pleasure of immersing into.

    EDIT:

    WATCH IT HERE

I finally managed to get my hands on the full ceremony in high quality, cut out the part and find a site that would accept the length/file size.

I thought it was disappointing, it was very english and very london, of all the things which could've featured which didnt there's King Arthur and Camelot, Tolkein, Lewis, Doyle, Dahl, Shakespeare and HG Wells. That's just mentioning a few.

    At least there were Corgis.

Yeah, you were probably too busy skinning alligators to notice.

And the scallies probably thought it didn't have enough The Streets.
What people from the UK think doesn't matter. Hosting the Olympics is an opportunity for the country to market itself internationally, and you did a very good job.

So people from the Isles of Wonder(ful inbreeding) can stop posting.

Watching it now. So far it feels too slow and not nearly as intimidating as the Chinese ceremony.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

The first 8 minutes are pretty average. Then the story unfolds.

NBC sucks, I was willing to watch live on t.v., but whatever.

    Watching a BBC version online.

I need to rewatch the opening, however.

    Will get back to you.

the focus on technology and social media at one part made me want to vomit my delicious chicken enchiladas

but i suppose that is the focus of society today.
