but i suppose that is the focus of society today.
It was totally lame compared to the Chinese ceremony, but I think most countries would have a tough time following that show.

I noticed the Germans entered with the males wearing blue and the girls wearing pink. Is that the only way they can tell the sexes apart?
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

THAT was the dumbest thing I've ever seen. If I were one of the women, I'd'a been like, "fuck pink, gimme a blue coat!"

the queen was made to listen to the Prodigy "Smack My Bitch Up".

Is that what pissed her off? She didn't look very happy. How could you not smile at those cute kids singing the national anthem??

I agree, that was weird... and how was the guy texting the girl when she lost her phone??

Wow, I sound really critical of the whole thing. I actually really enjoyed it... there were just a few weird things that I noticed.

Ok yeah... screw NBC and its 4 hour long opening ceremony with commercials in-between.

With what I've only been able to see...I loved the opening ceremony.

Hard to top off the one Beijing did, but I loved it nonetheless.

And what's with Bob Costas and his snarky comments? I really don't like him.

What I Learned Watching the Opening Ceremony on the American Channel NBC:

East London is so blighted and hopeless that the people living there yearn to live in Somalia.
