People have won lawsuits based on even more flimsy reasoning. Our legal system loves to spread the responsibility around, well beyond those who are actually to blame. It gets the plaintiffs and their lawyers more money that way. (After all, how much money are they likely to get out of the actual killer?)

I think it's a shame that some of the victims' families have chosen to go sue crazy. It's not the theater's fault, not the fault of Warner Bros. Jesus

Why do I always hear of stories of Americans going on a shooting rampage and not people from other civilized countries?

The more access people have to dangerous weapons (in this instance firearms) the more likely more people would use them against another, especially during moments of stress, mental illness, anger etc. Simple as that.

Mitt Romney defended the USA citizens' right to bear arms policy against Piers Morgan recently on a CNN interview. The reason he gave was 'bad people will always find ways to do bad things'. He completely avoided the fact that more the weapons being circulated more likely violence would occur and it is not always the bad people who do bad things but anger. He was clearly defending his party policies than his own from what I figured.

    Urghhh!

I always bare my arms. It's cooler in the summer that way.

You know what's better? The three guys who became an online meme to do with heroism, they protected their girlfriends from the gun fire, now those are role models.

Since the discussion has been ungoing for a while now, I want to respond to the title of the thread.
The joker would have wanted it, if it was funny. This was anything but.
(wait, did I say that correctly? ...anything but funny. Did I now claim it was funny, or it was not? Im confused for a moment)
