i figure that the lies behind the truth and truth behind the lies would be a good way of describing how awesome those two shows are.
I had both of those in the list I put up a while back (near the top of my list too).

While I would not feel as informed if those were my only news sources, they do sometimes call attention to stories or facts that other "legit" news sources either ignore or gloss over, and being "fake" and humor oriented allows them to be more direct and honest about things without getting slammed for being insensitive or politically incorrect. I did not include it in my list as I don't think it alone is with paying for HBO, but I also highly respect Bill Maher for giving more brutal honest news and political commentary with a touch of humor.

I get most of my news from NPR.

    1. Yahoo! News (I'll read it if there's an interesting headline)

I'd also like to note that when I research news in entertainment, I am quite unconcerned about which celebrities married whom or who had a new baby. I'm more interested in the movie and/or video game projects and computer hardware that are being proposed in the future.

Me? CNN and The Daily Show.

Funny enough, my two favorites are Jon Stewart (with his liberal slant) and Glenn Beck, who is exceptionally conservative.

    I <3 politics.

I actually sleep to CNN headline news. Nancy Grace's self-righteousness puts me out like a light, and the repetition of the news loop makes it easy to fall back to sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night.
