Yes, quite wrong. For instance, with dwindling tenure positions (which is another problem in and of itself), the few available are still being occupied by boomers and young academics are forced to adjunct or get out altogether.

I don't think it's a generational war like the media narrative is trying to frame it as. Instead, I think it has more to do with technology making it so there is no longer a demand for full employment, and the failure of our leadership in addressing this reality.
