This is nothing new; this shit happens all the time, it just doesn't always receive media coverage, or isn't discovered for years. Take the incident a few yrs back, where a man ate his 4 yr old son's eyeballs while fucked out of his mind on PCP. Or the schizophrenic guy who decapitated/cannibalized a guy aboard a Greyhound bus in Canada. These incidents occur more frequently than we'd like to know.

    Horrifying.

And there was me, thinking I'd gotten all desensitized.

I remember the second story, but not the first. I do think there's been a special influx of dismemberment in the press of late, whether it is a coverage or incident increase --I can't say.

It's just coincidence/naturally random fluctuation/etc. But if all you did is watch cable news you would think the world really was in the middle of an apocalypse, not just with the zombies, but with the economy and everything else news outlets report.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

What's that term when all the news outlets pick up on a single or related set of stories?

Yeah, thats how the news is done. It's a lurid topc (eating people). I wonder if anyone is tracking this info so there are meaningful statistics.

Really can't wait for them to catch this scum bag. POS showed up on video surveillance at an airport in France the other day, was spotted drinking in part of some town by a witness and leads led law enforcement to a hotel room he had been staying in which ended in confiscating a few of his belongings he had left behind (pornography and air sickness bags from an airline...Uhh). Unfortunately, he had already dipped.
