The guy who started my fraternity family started talking about how badly he wanted to fuck my sister during a drinking game in college.

I had already told him to pump the brakes but he persisted.

This guy is 6'8" and probably 340lbs.

I stood up from my chair, picked it up, and started walking to his side of the table.

Some other brothers tackled me and took me upstairs before I could get to him, but you get the point.

    He apologized profusely later.
I don't have much of an opinion but i can see why you wanted to put a chair
round his head if you asked him nicely and he still persisted in telling you he
wanted to fuck your sister, crude.

What counts as an honor offense?
Is it OK to beat or kill family members to protect the family honor?
An honour offence is where someone talks about F*cking your sister &
persists to continue even when you have asked them to stop. As nerd Girl
says her father would rightly hand a bit of a beating for such line crossing.
The guys as big as stated and had got comfortable with abusing the rights
of others. It is a good thing he was shown a chair. I am happy it didn't make
contact but it would be his erring if it did. hopefully he remembered the lesson
but he probably carried on with others just leaving this guy alone, it is the way
    of bullies.

What if the offender was a woman? Would she deserve a beating?

Yeah, fighting is pretty much a dumbass thing to do except in actual physical self defense or for sport in a controlled environment. In self defense, there is no cowardly way to save your ass.
