Whether or not I can beat them never comes into it.

If they cross the line and are on notice that they are barking up the wrong tree, it's on.

The guy who started my fraternity family started talking about how badly he wanted to fuck my sister during a drinking game in college.

I had already told him to pump the brakes but he persisted.

This guy is 6'8" and probably 340lbs.

I stood up from my chair, picked it up, and started walking to his side of the table.

Some other brothers tackled me and took me upstairs before I could get to him, but you get the point.

    He apologized profusely later.

    I'm a (3rd generation) Florida Gator.

He's actually a pretty good guy, he just thinks no one will call him on his shit because most people don't.

Which goes to show that he really wasn't a bad guy. Had your friends intervened, you would have beat up a guy who didn't deserve it, or you would have received a severe beating from a guy you had no real quarrel with. In either case, the aggression would not have resulted in a good outcome.

I did have a real fucking quarrel with him, a quarrel that didn't end until he apologized.

Maybe my definition of what is fight worthy differs from yours, but I wont stand idly by while someone sullies my sister's honor.

It takes a lot to get me to fight, but this guy knowingly drove me to that place, and had we fought, I'm certain we would have shaken hands later.

just because he was a good guy doesn't mean he didn't need to be taught a lesson. granted, this particular situation would not warrant me wanting to kick someone's ass, but the principle here is, some people do not understand respect for other people's boundaries and, good person or not, there is nothing wrong with punishing someone who'm you feel has repeatedly crossed your boundary. proverbs says to ride a fool with a rod on his back. again, it would take much more than a situation like this one (which I honestly would not care much about) to kick someone's ass, but I get @DiscoBiscuit's point of view here

    The dude was drunk.

The drunk dude essentially said he had the hots for your sister. How does that diminish your sister's standing in the eyes of the community? How does a fight with him serve to elevate her position?
