You could replace Capitalism with pretty much any economic system in this sentence.

    Agreed!

Note that my quote didn't even mention other systems, let alone say that other systems don't fail similarly.

I think what she said is exactly it. There is only one other economic system. I have lived in that system. In the economic sense, socialism does not produce winners or losers. That is the idea of socialism.

    Yes. Best adopted in Sweden.
Erlander made huge mistakes. Sweden prospered all the same.
Palme evaded the mistakes of Erlander. He got a bullet through his eye.

Socialism only produces loosers. Except when you are part of the upper echelons of the bureaucracy.

Lol. I'm used of this myth.

Scandinavian countries have a more libertarian economy than USA or Canada. The economics freedoms are higher, entrepreneurship is easy, the taxes on private compagnies are lower. Also, the employement market is very flexible. Except in Sweden, the result is that in Denmark the level of unemployement is low, and that in Sweden the level of employement is higher.

However, public services are in concurence with privates compagnies and are managed like private compagnies and the level of buraucracy is minimal. The education system is very flexible, a strong part of the schools are privates and families choose the school and pay the school of their children with the vouchers, an idea of the libertarian economist Milton Friedman.

Scandinavia was truly socialist 40 years ago, but was not at all as prosperous that it is nowaday. It became far more libertarian from this time, a very large part of the economy has been privatized, the subventions to agriculture has been abolished. Scandinavia is actually a bit more libertarian than USA and Canada, not at all a success of socialism as socialists try to make us believe.

If you want to see socialism, look at France, Portugal or Greece, and you could see the result.

How do I look at France, Portugal or Greece?
I travel to those places, or is there an alternative?
