Not necessarily. In the U.S. the crime is generally deemed to be perpetrated against the state (not the individual as would be in a civil suit). In other words it is generally not necessary for the victim of a crime to "press charges".

The article said he had a history of petty offenses. He might have been doing it daily with impunity.

haha, I definitely did that when I was a kid.

    plz don't arrest me

....seriously though, that is pretty silly. A fine would seem a more reasonable penalty.

I think what really upset the judge is when he mixed the orange soda with the pepsi.

What the liberal media doesn't want you to know is that the man raped a clown immediately prior to pouring his nice refreshing sodapop

Today it's a soda, but tomorrow he could steal people's homes or even the entire world economy. We can't play favorites. If we punish the fat cats in wall street for the megacrimes, we need to punish Mr. Soda Popinski.

How can stealing a soda be a felony? Because it's from the evil entity McDonald's?

Anyone who has this much of a black and white sense of "right" and "wrong" should probably be confined to making macrame projects for grandma, and has no business in law or law enforcement.
