Are you serious? That was the only reason?

He should know better than to mess with Texas Florida and the sane, non-violent and thoughtful police who keep it safe.

I thought the title had to be a joke. Was hoping this would be a troll thread to get us to look this time

It's petty theft, a long line of petty theft..... but still say if you steal like 15 $1 sodas, that's only $15.... is that worthy of 5 years of prison?

Well, apparently this guy has a history of petty theft, which means that the state should reward him with gang rape and a $5000 fine he can't repay since he is unemployed.

Yeah that's what I'm wondering.... how is it worthy of prison if all the theft is petty? Did he steal like 5000 McDonalds's sodas?

A judge will probably reduce the sentence accordingly.

Yep. That's a misdemeanor in Florida, at least that's what they told me.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."
