For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

Teachers can be fired for "moral turpitude," which this may be seen to fall under.

Teachers aren't even allowed to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes

What on earth made her think she could pursue such a profession in the age of the internet?

Didn't something like this happen to Sasha Grey when she volunteered to read to kids in a library or something like that?

The counter argument: she wasn't doing anything illegal. This was something she did before becoming a teacher. Should descisions we made at the age of say 20 be allowed to haunt us for the rest of our lives? One reason for her firing was dishonesty. She was asked by the school board if she had done the films and had initially denied it. If she had been honest from the beginning should she have been fired? Parents have the right to pull their children from the classroom if they feel uncomfortable with a certain teacher. Is that a viable option? Is it unfair to discriminate against someone for a prior profession?

I can only imagine the next episodes that come out:

    "Hot for Teacher"
    "Banana for Teacher"
    "Extra Credit, Top Student"

    etc.

I think if this was before she became a teacher, it's unfair to punish her for it now. I think there is a better case if she's both teaching and doing porn. But she wasn't breaking any laws, and if it's something she is no longer doing, then why punish her?

But I understand some people feel differently.

It's not fair to her, if that was her past life, and she doesn't do that kind of thing anymore, but the fact is, people have seen it, and that's going to follow her now everywhere she goes. It's not fair to the school administration to keep her, because there will be nothing be shit to come from it. There will be enough parents who complain to make it just not worth their while. And it will be a distraction to learning -- even if she's a good teacher, the first thing she has to stare down is "are you the one who ..."? No way she can teach anymore.

    Let's all judge her.
