    Default Liberatarian Purity Test

    Take it here.

I scored 29. I consider myself more of a liberal than a libertarian.
Some of the questions were rather interesting but I would have liked a not sure option rather than a forced yes or no.

Some of the later questions were rather extreme, but I think that was the idea- to differentiate between extreme libertarians vs. those who are more moderate. I think the government overspends in many areas but I am not in favor of eliminating the spending altogether.

0 points: You are not a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination. You are probably not even a liberal or a conservative. Just some Nazi nut, I guess.
1-5 points: You have a few libertarian notions, but overall you're a statist.
6-15 points: You are starting to have libertarian leanings. Explore them.
16-30 points: You are a soft-core libertarian. With effort, you may harden and become pure.
31-50 points: Your libertarian credentials are obvious. Doubtlessly you will become more extreme as time goes on.
51-90 points: You are a medium-core libertarian, probably self-consciously so. Your friends probably encourage you to quit talking about your views so much.
91-130 points: You have entered the heady realm of hard-core libertarianism. Now doesn't that make you feel worse that you didn't get a perfect score?
131-159 points: You are nearly a perfect libertarian, with a tiny number of blind spots. Think about them, then take the test over again. On the other hand, if you scored this high, you probably have a good libertarian objection to my suggested libertarian answer. :-) 160 points: Perfect! The world needs more like you.

I didn't know how to answer much of it either. There's a huge difference between what I think government should be now and in the near future than what I think it should become. I scored 91.

I wanted to answer "It depends", "need more information", or "be more specific" for almost every question. Stupid test.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

This whole test read to me as
Should we ignore the nuances that normal people would take into consideration when analyzing a situation?
    [ ] Yes
    [ ] No
I got a 48. "Doubtlessly you will become more extreme as time goes on." Shit. I didn't realize that everything was always just a slippery slope, all the time.

But knowing that is so freeing. The veil has been lifted. The only logical conclusion is that, if I'm going to answer "Yes" to one question, I may as well answer "Yes" to all questions.

In terms of social policy, I'm extremely libertarian (e.g. legalize all safe drugs, decriminalize the hard drugs, legalize all forms of nudity, porn, and sex, pro-gay marraige, pro-abortion, etc. Screw the moral/social order, freedom is better), however I would favor a more controlled/liberal economic policy (I mean privatizing the law system? Do fiscally conservative libertarians want the rich to literally control the poor?). Foreign policy wise, I'm sorta middle ground; I'd prefer not to engage military activity unless necessary, however engaged diplomatic relations and beneficial methods to help other nations that we can ally with is something that I support.
