I also want some of our current government programs kept, especially those that provie a safety net like social security and medicare.
Agreed. I consider myself a welfare-capitalist; personally I think there should a few socialized things, like health care, food, and other needs that are insured by the government, and everything else can belong to the free-market.

Some of the questions certainly suggest that the test is a joke; a few of the questions seemed less like libertarianism would desire and more like something an anarchist would beleive in.

91-130 points: You have entered the heady realm of hard-core libertarianism. Now doesn't that make you feel worse that you didn't get a perfect score?
answer: nope, it doesn't. i've actually become less extreme over the years. i suppose its not so much about principles anymore as much as it's about what i think will or won't benefit society, and this isn't only about an ideal society but also the time period in which it exists.

    40.

I was surprised that I scored this high. I know I consider myself a left-libertarian, but I'm not for a libertarian economy nor am I for a socialist economy. Like SuchIrony and Savage Idealist, I think there are some things that it is essential for them to be public, while other, less "minor" things can be privatized.

    128. lower than I expected. probably because I am pro worker safety regulations, but that's about it. overall I think the government is mainly comprised of psychopaths who desire dominion over people.

In terms of social policy, I'm extremely libertarian (e.g. legalize all safe drugs, decriminalize the hard drugs, legalize all forms of nudity, porn, and sex, pro-gay marraige, pro-abortion, etc. Screw the moral/social order, freedom is better),
    hahaha!

however I would favor a more controlled/liberal economic policy (I mean privatizing the law system? Do fiscally conservative libertarians want the rich to literally control the poor?). Foreign policy wise, I'm sorta middle ground; I'd prefer not to engage military activity unless necessary, however engaged diplomatic relations and beneficial methods to help other nations that we can ally with is something that I support.
I voted against that too. essentially what would happen under those circumstances would be essentially akin to modern feudalism (which, I'm sure any libertarian would be against)

Yeah, or worse, rogue police gangs who enforce their own law whenever they fancy and only towards the highest bidder. Talk about nightmarish.

seriously, I don't know how that question was supposed to be more "libertarian" Libertarianism is all about choice.

Yeah, some of the questions on that test seemed more akin to stright-up 19th century anarchism.
